Strictly Come Dancing’s Halloween special brought a spooky twist to the dance floor in week six, with 11 celebrity contestants aiming to impress the judges.

Yet, it was Aljaz Skorjanec’s costume mishap during his eerie performance that stole the show.

Aljaz and his dance partner Tasha Ghoruri performed a samba to Reel 2 Real’s hit ‘I Like to Move It’, embracing a Frankenstein theme complete with green face paint, an exaggerated quiff, and neck bolts to channel the iconic monster.

But the performance took a comical turn when one of Aljaz’s neck bolts fell off mere seconds into the routine.

The second bolt followed suit after the pair had finished dancing, prompting laughter from Strictly viewers.

Fans quickly took to social media to share their amusement with one viewer commenting on platform X: “Aljaz losing both his neck bolts from sweating is so funny to me #strictly.”

Another fan remarked: “Aljaz has a bit of a screw loose. Seriously. He’s missing one after his dance. And he’s about to lose another. #SCD #Strictly”, while a third chimed in with: “Aljaz has lost a bolt,” accompanied by a shocked emoji.

Despite the wardrobe malfunction, the duo scored an impressive 37 points, setting a record for the highest-scoring Halloween samba and securing the top spot on the leaderboard.

Judge Shirley Ballas praised the performance, noting they “combined character and technique, very impressive.”

JB Gill narrowly avoided being sent home last week after surviving the dreaded dance-off against former footballer Paul Merson.

However, according to the latest odds from the bookies, Dr Punam Krishan is now the favourite to be eliminated this week with odds of 2/1.

Olympian Sam Quek follows closely behind at 7/2, while Pete Wicks is currently sitting at 5/1.

On the other end of the spectrum, comedian Chris McCausland and his partner Dianne Buswell remain the favourites to win Strictly, with their odds of elimination having increased from 200/1 to 250/1 despite fewer couples remaining in the competition.

Strictly Come Dancing continues every Saturday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
