Fearful Arsenal supporters have begged Kieran Tierney to save our season after being engulfed in a defensive injury crisis.

And the £25m man – who appeared on the way out of the Emirates – is the talk of North London after he was snapped pensively watching Sunday’s absorbing 2-2 draw with Liverpool next to suspended French superstar William Saliba. But he wasn’t namechecked as the discussion centred around Saliba. And Tierney’s presence sparked a commotion among Gooners as they stare down a series of injury nightmares. Takehiro Tomiyasu and Riccardo Calafiori are on the shelf and Jurrien Timber hobbled off against the Reds.

Mikel Arteta is down to the bare bones, so much so, Myles Lewis-Skelly was drafted in to replace the Netherlands international in the final exchanges. Arteta watched Arsenal gamely hang on for a share of the spoils, however, the Spaniard could barely hide his worry with the injuries racking up for a side who appeared on the ropes. And punters want to know when Tierney will be back and if Arteta will turn to him in his hour of need.
