But he wasn’t namechecked as the discussion centred around Saliba. And Tierney’s presence sparked a commotion among Gooners as they stare down a series of injury nightmares. Takehiro Tomiyasu and Riccardo Calafiori are on the shelf and Jurrien Timber hobbled off against the Reds.
Mikel Arteta is down to the bare bones, so much so, Myles Lewis-Skelly was drafted in to replace the Netherlands international in the final exchanges. Arteta watched Arsenal gamely hang on for a share of the spoils, however, the Spaniard could barely hide his worry with the injuries racking up for a side who appeared on the ropes.
