If you’re still scrambling for a Halloween costume, don’t panic, as you likely have the perfect outfit in your wardrobe already.

It’s well known that Halloween can be a costly event, with some costumes setting you back more than £50 – and that’s before you factor in all the accessories needed to achieve maximum spookiness.

However, if you’ve received a last-minute invitation to a Halloween party, there’s no need to dash to your local costume shop. One woman on TikTok has highlighted that you probably already have the ideal outfit in your wardrobe – and everyone will instantly recognise your character.

Monika Mancini took to TikTok to share her “last minute Halloween costume ideas with things you probably have in your closet” so you don’t have to splash out on something that will likely end up forgotten under your bed.

First off, Monika suggests you “grab a black mini dress”. Hers was a puffy smock-style, reaching mid-thigh. Next, you’ll need a “black ribbon to tie around your waist”.

At this point, she looked suitably stylish, but viewers were left guessing which spooky Halloween character she was morphing into. Monika then advised adding “tall black boots”, and the accompanying hairstyle is straightforward – “two braids”.

Have you figured out the costume yet? It’s Wednesday Addams, of course. She first stole hearts in the classic 1991 movie ‘The Addams Family’ with her dark sense of humour and fascination with all things eerie.

Jenna Ortega’s portrayal of the character in Netflix’s hit series ‘Wednesday’ saw her popularity soar when it released in 2022. Fans are eagerly awaiting the second season, slated for release sometime in 2025.

Over on X, previously known as Twitter, the buzz is non-stop with fans sharing their enthusiasm: “Wednesday is the best,” “We need season two now please”, “Netflix has so many cool shows coming in the next little while. It’s been a bit of a dry spell lately (except for Terminator Zero, which is the best Terminator thing in years) but I can’t wait for more Squid Game, One Piece, Wednesday and so much more! ! ” In response to one Halloween post, a user expressed approval: “I like the idea.”

Another commented: “Might be my favourite costume you’ve done! ” There were even specific requests for outfits like “witch” and “cop”.
