At the latest meeting of Motherwell Photographic Society, club vice-president Rodger Shearer gave a presentation called ‘Chasing the Light’.

This showcased some of Rodger’s landscape photographs. His presentation was full of helpful tips and techniques. Rodger is always looking to improve his own photography and will re-visit locations to see if he can take a better shot than the previous time.

He explained the equipment and camera settings he uses and the composition guidelines he considers when creating his photographs.

Members were treated to a wonderful display of landscape images taken in a variety of countries including Scotland, The Faroe Islands, Canada and Alaska.

The club members thanked Rodger for sharing his images with them and for passing on useful techniques to help take better images.

The next meeting on Thursday, October 31, will be the annual theme competition. The themes this year are reflections for the prints and abstract for the digital images.

Members can submit up to four entries in each section which should be brought along on the night.
