This challenging brainteaser has left social media users scratching their heads. The cartoon, featuring an elephant hunter and his elusive prey hiding in plain sight, is a mind-bending illusion shared by puzzle expert Hectic Nick on TikTok, who challenged his viewers to solve the mystery of the missing elephant.

He posted online: “Only one percent of people can find the hidden elephant in this image. It’s not easy, but try flipping your phone over and you might be able to find it.”

This image is a tough one to crack. These puzzles play with how our brains and eyes share information and how we interpret visual data.

Besides being a fun challenge, brainteasers test your perceptions and trick your mind out of its usual habits, forcing you to take a second look at what you’re actually seeing. To solve this puzzle, you need a keen eye for detail.

The image depicts a forest scene with trees and plants and a hunter stalking his prey through the woods. If you can spot the elephant straight away, you’re among the top 1% of viewers, reports the Mirror.

Can you see the beast?

Don’t worry if you can’t, most people struggle to see it initially. Here’s a clue: only part of the elephant is in the picture.

If that’s still no help, read on for the answer. If you look closely enough, you might notice that the elephant was lurking in the foreground, with the two large trees acting as its legs and the smaller tree as its trunk.

Meanwhile, if you enjoyed that, give the Sailor’s Wife puzzle a go. At first glance, an image might appear to be one thing, but when viewed from a different perspective, it can reveal something entirely different upon closer inspection.

These illusions occur due to how our brains process visual information in various ways, challenging our perception. This vintage picture of a sailor searching for his wife is a prime example of such a puzzle.

She is hidden somewhere within the frame, but it’s said that only 1% of people can spot her in less than 15 seconds.
