She was able to slip her hand between the rope and her neck to free herself.

After freeing herself, she ran to the patio to call 911. The dispatcher allegedly could hear Lockner state, “You can die with me.”

The woman told investigators that Lockner had tried to kill her two weeks ago by placing a pillow over her head.

However, she was able to get him to stop and she thought he wouldn’t try to hurt her again.

Lockner later told deputies that he was dying and did not want to leave his wife alone.

He also told authorities that he planned to kill his wife with the rope, and then hang himself.

Lockner was booked into the Marion County Jail on two counts of first-degree attempted murder.

As of now, no bond is set.
