GCP Comic Con returned to the David Keswick Centre in Dumfries with fans of all ages from across the region relishing the chance to grab a cool selfie with their favourite heroes and villains.

There was an amazing line-up of characters for the all essential meet and greet, which has become a hit with the Dumfries crowds who packed out the venue over the day, with arcade machines and props also available to be enjoyed.

The Merc with a mouth – Deadpool – came all guns blazing and proved popular with those wanting pictures.

There was also Pikachu, Spiderman, Sonic The Hedgehog and Shadow, Bluey and Bingo for the younger visitors, plus a plethora of other costume characters with local enthusiasts entering the cosplay competition.

Ghostbusters Alba made a welcome return with their table of merchandise which helps raise money for children’s charities in Scotland, as well as props associated with the popular film franchise and their 15 foot high Stay Puft.

The Imperial Scottish Garrison and The Rebel Legion UK were also there as a treat for Star Wars fans – and they were also raising money for charity.

Brave attendees also got to meet a baby raptor and get hands on with real dinosaur teeth and characters – including Jurassic Park and Jurassic World favourites Spinosaurus and Mosasaurus – and other fossils.

In a Jurrassic Class event, they were told about the creatures that once ruled the earth, how they came to be, how they lived and how they eventually died out

And to top it all, visitors got the chance to show their own creativity by designing their own dinosaurs – following in the footsteps of Dr Wu with the Indominus Rex and Indoraptor in the Jurassic World film.

Fans got the chance to meet and chat with film-maker and writer, Etienne Kubwabo (KE Comics), who came to Dumfries Comic Con with his best selling comic Beats of War.

Among the many trader stalls was Star Wars fanatic and Topps artist Chris Owen displaying his art, and celebrating the release of Still Game Book 1: He Who Hingeth Aboot Getteth HeeHaw, were some of the creators of this new comic companion to the iconic Scottish comedy show.
