A five-year-old girl has been found unresponsive at a property sparking welfare concerns.

Police made the discovery at an address in Ellesmere Port, Chesire on Saturday, October 26.

Emergency crews were scrambled to Cappenhurst Lane after responding to welfare concerns at around 9.05am.

Shocked locals reported seeing police cars, an ambulance and an air ambulance all descend on the street.

The girl remains in hospital after receiving treatment, The Liverpool ECHO reports.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “At around 9.05am on Saturday 26 October, police were called to concerns for the welfare of a five-year-old girl who was unresponsive at an address on Capenhurst Lane, Ellesmere Port.

“Emergency services attended the scene and the girl was treated by paramedics. The incident is not believed to be suspicious and the girl remains in hospital at this time receiving treatment.”
