Hollywood seems to be obsessed with biopic movies at the moment and Bruce Springsteen, 75, is the latest legend to have his story told.

Deliver Me From Nowhere focuses on the beloved musician making his 1982 album Nebraska, which is widely considered one of the most influential records of all time.

It was previously revealed that Bruce, who is still touring with the E Street Band, will be played by Jeremy Allen White, 33.

Viewers of The Bear instantly praised the choice, given Jeremy’s proven acting capabilities with two Golden Globes and two Emmys to his name.

Finally, a first glimpse at the film has been released with 20th Century Studios sharing a still image of Jeremy as The Boss, wearing a flannel shirt and leather jacket.

Unfortunately, the image has left fans a little disappointed, with many venting that he looks nothing like the Streets of Philadelphia hitmaker.

‘The way this just looks like Jeremy on any given day,’ wrote Rissa on X after the announcement.

‘That’s literally just Jeremy Allen White 😭😭,’ added Ray as Josh joked: ‘It’s very “go girl give us nothing” vibes.’

‘Laughing so hard they didn’t even try,’ said Hannah while Zach called it ’embarrassing’ and Maria even apologised to Bruce.

‘Jeremy Allen White as Jeremy Allen White in a new biopic,’ summed up account cynicalgood as fans continued to ridicule the picture.

While the transformation hasn’t convinced fans, many are still hopeful that this biopic will be worth watching.

‘Jeremy Allen White writing my favourite Bruce Springsteen song is gonna wreck me!!!!’ added Rachel.

The biopic is an adaptation of Warren Zanes’ 2023 book of the same name and will be directed by Scott Cooper.

Of the film, the Crazy Heart director said: ‘Beginning production on this film is an incredibly humbling and thrilling journey. Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska has profoundly shaped my artistic vision.

‘The album’s raw, unvarnished portrayal of life’s trials and resilience resonates deeply with me. Our film aims to capture that same spirit, bringing Warren Zanes’ compelling narrative of Bruce’s life to the screen with authenticity and hope, honouring Bruce’s legacy in a transformative cinematic experience.

‘It has been a great pleasure to collaborate with Bruce and Jon [Landau] as I tell their story, and their creative energy fuels every part of this journey. As well, I’m excited to reunite with my friend, David Greenbaum [president, Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios], as he embarks on his new role at Disney, adding another layer of inspiration to this project.’

Record producer and Bruce’s mentor, Jon Landau, will be played by Snatch and Boiling Point star Sir Stephen Graham, 51.

Also rounding out the cast are Jersey Boys actor Johnny Cannizzaro as E Street Band member Stevie Van Zandt, Cruella star Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan, and Mothering Sunday’s Odessa Young as Faye.
