Cops have launched a probe into a murder bid shooting inside a Glasgow shop which sparked a major armed response and left a man in hospital.

A firearm was discharged in premises on Drumoyne Road in the Govan area of the city on around 4pm on Friday, October 25. A 52-year-old man was rushed to hospital for treatment following the incident. His condition is described as stable.

Detectives are treating the shooting as attempted murder and believe the incident was targeted.

Officers have launched a hunt for two men who had face-coverings and were seen in the area at the time.

The men fled the scene in a dark-coloured Ford Fiesta, which police later discovered burnt-out in a wooded area a 30 minute drive away near Cochno Road in the Faifley area, a popular spot for walkers.
