Outlander star Sam Heughan delighted fans as he was spotted partying in Glasgow on Sunday.

The actor visited a popular bar in the city’s West End to celebrate the venue’s 30th year in business. To mark the anniversary, owners of gastropub Stravaigin invited Heughan to serve his luxury whisky brand Sassenach Spirits to guests.

The Jamie Fraser star has earned a new reputation as a whisky connoisseur in recent years for his Scottish-inspired drinks venture, which recently won three gold medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

In a post shared with his 4.3 million Instagram fans, Heughan wrote: “Delighted to share the celebrations with some good friends, old and new, whilst serving some delicious @sassenachspirits cocktails.”

He added: “So proud our award winning spirits are now being served in my favourite Glasgow bar, if you’re in town, pop in for a dram and tell Olivia I sent you!?!”

Stravaigin manager Olivia Wong explained that Heughan’s spirits will be served as a permanent fixture at the bar in response to overwhelming demand from customers.

She said: “We are thrilled to welcome The Sassenach to Stravaigin. We are all big fans of Sam and his Scotch whisky here at Stravaigin and know excitement levels will be running high as we announce it is becoming a permanent addition to our drinks menu.”

Heughan treated punters to drams of his famous whisky, along with cocktails featuring the spirits. The celebrations attracted several famous faces, with Still Game star Sanjeev Kohli, fellow Outlander co-stars Richard Rankin and Jamie Roy all dropping in to enjoy the atmosphere.

Pictures posted to Instagram show a beaming Heughan clutching bottles of his award-winning whisky and posing alongside actor Sanjeev Kohli and singer Eddi Reader. In another photo, the actor holds a 30th birthday cake surrounded by smiling members of the public.
