Married at First Sight UK’s Sacha Jones has been branded an ‘icon’ during her stint on the reality show, with viewers praising her for tackling drama head-on and sticking up for her co-stars.
The former Miss Birmingham winner, now 29, married stranger Ross McCarthy on the show with their partnership fast becoming one of the strongest out of the 2024 couples. But before her relationship with Ross, the bride enjoyed a dalliance with a very familiar face.
Like many of the couples on MAFS UK, Sacha is no stranger to reality TV. Back in 2013, she appeared on MTV’s Beauty School Cop Outs which followed eight aspiring beauticians as they moved to Manchester to learn the trade. While the show ran for just one season, it launched the careers of Scarlett Moffatt, who would go on to appear on Gogglebox a year later, and Irish model Jeremy McConnell, who later appeared on Celebrity Big Brother.
It was during her stint on Beauty School Cop Outs that Sacha locked lips with Jeremy, three years before he became a Big Brother housemate. She wasn’t the only one to enjoy a smooch with the model, as Scarlett Moffatt also shared a kiss with him during the series.
Sacha’s telly career didn’t have quite the same trajectory as her MTV co-stars, but in 2022 she appeared on screens again, this time in a reboot of the reality series Beauty and the Geek. Fronted by Mollie King and Matt Edmondson, the show paired eight ‘beauties’ with eight ‘geeks’, with the pairs competing for a £50,000 cash prize in a series of challenges.
MAFS UK marks Sacha’s third foray into telly, but fans of the show will be saddened to hear her relationship with Ross did not last outside of the marriage experiment. Although the pair are shown reaching the final vows, and reportedly briefly lived together after filming wrapped, their romance ended shortly after.
In last night’s episode of MAFS (October 28), the ongoing feud between Sacha, Ross and Alex bubbled over during the penultimate commitment ceremony. Recounting his confrontation with Alex over his comments to bride Sacha, Ross shared: “I told him about my feelings… it wasn’t nice what he said to my wife. I was angry, I’m still angry. All I was asking was a simple thing, to say sorry.”
When expert Paul Brunson asked if Ross would be open to returning “to square one”, with his former friend, Ross hit back with “No, he can f*** off. He took it too far.” Alex then attempted to offer an olive branch to Sacha, but she refused it, with Alex and his bride Holly later leaving the experiment over their crumbling relationship.
MAFS UK continues tonight at 9pm on E4
