BLUEFIELD, W. Va. -Saturday marks the return of a fall tradition for Bluefield, West Virginia: Oktoberfest. This annual event was originally planned for earlier in the fall but, following a delay due to the storm, was rescheduled to a new date and new location.
It will now be held at David’s Downtown in the Bluefield Arts Building on Saturday, November 2nd, and will feature an evening of food, craft & domestic beers, and live music from the Steele Cookin Band.
However, this event has more than fun in the fall planned. It’s also a fundraiser for the Bluefield Beautification Commission, with all ticket sales going to create a beautiful area for visitors and residents alike.
“We are… the group that plants the beautiful flowers downtown, the statues you see downtown, the benches, the trash receptacles, trees, shrubbery, all of that good stuff, that’s what we are involved in and love doing for the community,” says Debrah Ammar from the Bluefield Beautification Commission.
Mark your calendars for this Saturday, November 2nd at the Bluefield Arts Center 3:00 pm – 7:00pm.
Tickets will be $35 at the door or $30 if you buy them in advance. You can buy them at Grant’s Supermarket, Goodykoontz Drug Store, Magnolia on Jefferson, David’s Downtown or online. You can find more information on the Bluefield Beautification Commission’s Facebook page.
