Hamilton Rock Choir will be performing some classics and anthems when they got to church to help a Lanarkshire charity.

The choir are appearing at St Andrew’s Parish Church to raise money for The Haven.

The inspirational and uplifting vocal ensemble will perform a variety of pop ballads and rock anthems for all to sing along to.

And crucially, the evening will be more than just a captivating performance from a well-established and hugely popular choir group, it’s also an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of people in the local community, throughout Lanarkshire and beyond.

The Haven formed in 2001 to help support individuals, carers, children, young people and families affected by life-limiting illness and bereavement.

The award-winning Scottish charity helps them manage the emotional impact of illness, bereavement and caring responsibilities.

June Torley, Business Support Manager for The Haven said: “The Haven is currently experiencing an incredible high demand for its support services. In the last financial year, April 2023 to March 2024, The Haven supported 520 clients. This is a 56 per cent increase on the previous year.

“This is why we are so extremely grateful to the Hamilton Rock Choir for generously giving their time and their wonderful musical talents to help raise vital funds for the charity that will enable us to continue to meet this growing demand.

“Everyone who comes along to the event can look forward to an uplifting, memorable evening, as well as being able to contribute to a charity that truly makes a difference”.

A similar event earlier this year at the church raised over £2,000 for the charity.

All proceeds raised from this latest event – which takes place on Friday, November 22 from 7.30pm to 9.30pm – will help support families, individuals and carers affected by life-limiting illness and bereavement.

Tickets cost £10.00 each and are available to purchase by visiting www.thehavencentre.com/events or by calling 01555 811846.

Doors open 6.45pm. Tea, coffee and refreshments will be available at the interval.
