A newborn baby was found dead Wednesday morning in the courtyard of a Bronx building, police said.
Police and EMS responded around 11:15 a.m. to a 911 call at Gleason and St. Lawrence Aves. in Soundview, where behind an apartment building, they found the newborn infant unconscious and unresponsive. The baby, whose umbilical cord was still attached, was pronounced dead at the scene.
There have been no arrests as police are trying to track down the child’s parents.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
