MESA, Ariz. (KPHO/Gray News) – A man is facing charges after causing a crash that killed a woman in Arizona over the weekend.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, 45-year-old Nicholas Stewart Meyer was making a lane change on U.S. 60 in Mesa around 8 a.m. on Sunday when he drifted to the right and crashed into a vehicle that was stopped on the side of the road.
Two people who were near that vehicle were hit.
One of the victims was identified as 23-year-old Zoey Johnson from Glendale. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other victim, who was not immediately identified, was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
DPS said Meyer was arrested and booked into jail for driving with a revoked or suspended license and causing a death by a moving violation.
No other information was released.
