Hugh Grant has revealed he ‘got smashed’ while partying with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
The pop superstar performed eight shows in London during her Eras tour over the summer, which saw the O2 flooded with her fans, including several celebrities too.
On the second night of her tour in the capital, a host of A-listers attended the concert, with Tom Cruise, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and Hugh Grant all spotted in the crowd.
Now, a few months on, Hugh has given an insight into the unlikely friendship he formed with the 34-year-old performer and her NFL star boyfriend, 35.
The 64-year-old has explained how they met after he ‘put out some feelers’ to see if he might be able to secure tickets to one of her sold-out shows so he could take his daughter.
‘To my astonishment, (Swift and her team) said, “Come along”. And I thoroughly enjoyed it,’ he said.
‘I hung out with Taylor Swift’s boyfriend who is an American football player.
‘We did tequila shots in the back of this … hut in the middle of Wembley (Stadium). We got absolutely smashed,’ he added when speaking to NME.
After attending the show, the actor sent Taylor a message on social media, posting on X: ‘Dear @taylorswift13, You have an incredible show, an amazing and v hospitable team and excellent if gigantic boyfriend (#tequilashots.) Thanks so much from one ageing London boy, wife and thrilled 8-year-old.’
She then responded to the message, replying: ‘As a long-time Hugh Grant stan this tweet is very important to my culture.’
Hugh has been married to Swedish TV producer Anna Elisabet Eberstein since 2018.
They share a son named John, 12, and two daughters, with Hugh revealing the names of their youngest just this week.
During an interview with US chat show host Jimmy Kimmel, the notoriously private actor spoke about his children.
After speaking about his unusual middle name – Mungo- High shared the name of his youngest daughter.
‘I was in a bit of a panic with my wife on the day we named [our daughter],’ he recalled.
‘We thought it might be nice for her when she was older if she could say in bars that her middle name is Danger. So, her name is Lulu Danger Grant. Austin Powers, you know?’
Hugh is also father to daughter Tabitha, 13, and son Felix, 11, who he shares with ex-girlfriend Tinglan Hong.
