Time is running out to snap up extra tickets released for the Dunblane Centre’s 20th anniversary dinner dance, featuring TV favourite Lorraine Kelly.
The dinner dance on Saturday, November 9 from 6.30pm includes a reception drink on arrival, three-course meal from Wilde Thyme, music from ‘Dogs Dinner’, a cash bar and more – all hosted by the centre’s recently announced latest patron Lorraine.
Tickets are £90 per head or £850 for a table of 10 guests. The dress code is “dress to impress” and there is a silent auction. The event is open to all aged 18 and over – but the deadline to buy tickets is this Friday, November 1.
Full details and tickets – which are limited – are available at dunblane-centre.sumupstore.com/category/20th-anniversary.
The centre is also busy this weekend, with its Christmas Craft Fayre on Sunday from 11am to 4pm. The day features more than 50 stalls with a wonderful selection of local makers, artists and writers all showcasing their work. There’s also hot drinks and snacks available to buy. Entry is free, although donations are welcome.
TV legend Lorraine was named as the Dunblane Centre’s newest patron earlier this year.
The journalist and presenter forged links in Dunblane after reporting on the tragedy in 1996.
The centre was built for the community through funds donated to the Stirling Observer Dunblane Help Fund in the wake of the tragedy, in tribute to those affected, and has been marking two decades of serving the community.
A spokesperson for the centre said: “Lorraine formed strong bonds in Dunblane after reporting on the tragedy in 1996 and has been supportive of the families and the town ever since. She joins fellow patrons, Dr Mick North, Lord Robertson and Lord Forsyth.”
Lorraine said: “I’m so honoured to be asked to be a patron for the Dunblane Centre. It’s such a brilliant place for the whole community and it’s been so heartening to see something so positive come from unimaginable tragedy. I’ve been so impressed by the work being done at the centre and am very proud to be able to be a small part of that success.”
Sue Lockwood, chair of the Dunblane Centre, added: “Lorraine Kelly has been a stalwart supporter of the Dunblane Centre and what it represents over many years, and it is so wonderful that she is happy to formalise this link by becoming a patron.
“We never forget that the Dunblane Centre is a living tribute and a gift to the community, established using donations sent from around the world following the tragedy in 1996.
“Each week, we welcome around 1000 people from our community, spanning all ages and stages, to our unique and dynamic building. As we celebrate 20 years of our doors being open, we look forward to stepping into the next, exciting chapter with her as part of our small yet vibrant Dunblane Centre team.”
