Ketchup sauce is undoubtedly one of the most popular sauces out there.

It’s perfect for a full English fry up or a bowl of fries – and even elevates most sandwiches. But when it comes to using the sachet packs, it could get irritating when you’re struggling to squeeze every little drop of tomato sauce.

Now one hack might just blow your mind after Instagram user @makesushi1, who boasts 299,000 followers, shared the “interesting” secret you wish you always knew. And once you learn this trick, you might wonder it’s taken so long to discover it…

In the short clip, the caption read: “The secret Heinz doesn’t want you to know!” It shows how using a fork can be very beneficial to squeezing out all the liquid from the packet. Start by placing the fork, then dragging it over to get “every last drop of ketchup”.

And the person in the clip seems to be rather pleased by their genius hack as they joked: “If you have very good control, you can aim it where you ever need to.” The post garnered thousands of likes and comments since it was posted last week.

One said: “That’s interesting. I should have known that a long time ago, but now I just learned it from watching this video.” Another added: “That’s a great tip.” While a third admitted: “Embarrassed that I never thought of this. Makes so much sense.”

Then a fourth chimed in: “Great… For every simple problem there is a complex solution that works almost as well as my fingers.” Others had suggestions for trying the hack elsewhere as someone revealed: “Where my toothpaste at?”

Meanwhile someone else pointed out another flaw and explained: “Great idea but wipe down the ketchup packet first or you will be eating all the germs on the outside.”

And this isn’t the first life hack we’ve seen in recent weeks which is blowing minds. Just recently, a man was called a “magician” after his clothes folding trick went viral on social media.

The life hack video garnered 305,800 views and 1,800 likes since it was shared on the Today Years Old account on X. It shows a man neatly folding parts of his sweater, before rolling the bottom and bringing the sleeves together.

There were also examples of jeans being folded, as well as a bulky puffer jacket. These methods can create more space and even prevent creases. It’s really handy given everyone’s always on the hunt for space-saving techniques.
