Cops are probing a malicious email which was sent to a number of Scots schools today.
Schools across Glasgow, South Lanarkshire, East Renfrewshire and East Dunbartonshire were all hit the messages around 8.50am this morning.
Officers attended a school in East Renfrewshire as part of their probe. It is not yet known the content of the email, but police say they are working with local authorities to investigate the matter.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers from Police Scotland were called to an incident, believed to be a malicious email, made to a number of schools in Glasgow, South Lanarkshire, East Renfrewshire and East Dunbartonshire around 8.50am on Thursday, 31 October, 2024.
“Enquiries are being carried out in conjunction with the relevant local authorities.”
The Record has contacted East Renfrewshire Council, East Dunbartonshire Council and South Lanarkshire Council.
Glasgow City Council said they would not be able to comment due to the incident being a “police matter”.
