Police say ‘several’ people have been taken to hospital following a multi-vehicle crash on the M74 near the Raith Interchange.
Five vehicles were involved in the pile-up just before junction 7 at Hamilton during morning rush hour.
Two lanes are currently restricted and emergency services are on the scene.
Police confirmed several people were taken to hospital as a precaution.
Motorists can expect lengthy delays of up to 25 minutes.
Traffic Scotland has advised road users to ‘approach with caution’.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.40am on Thursday, October 31 we were called to reports of a five vehicle collision on the M74 at Junction 7, near Raith Interchange.
“Emergency services attended and several people were taken to hospital as a precaution.
“Recovery was arranged.”
Scottish Ambulance Service were contacted for comment.
