Love Is Blind’s” Tyler Francis is finally speaking out following the shocking revelation of his three secret children during his engagement to Ashley Adionser.
The Netflix reality star addressed the bombshell “sperm donor babies” fiasco during the season 7 reunion, but insisted he doesn’t “owe anyone an explanation.”
“I did help a friend and her wife start a family, but her wife ended up leaving her and left her high and dry. This was my very close friend, so I stepped in, voluntarily, and helped,” Francis said at the season 7 reunion.
Despite initially insisting he wasn’t involved in the children’s lives, photos of the father of three leaked online, leaving fans to wonder if he lied to Ashley about his relationship with the children.
“There are pictures of me around,” he explains sitting next to Ashley. “You’ll see me around. I’ve spent the holidays with all my friends, you know, all their kids. And I played a part that became very shaky with a friend.”
He added, “There’s no rule books to this. There are no set lines to this. But I do wanna let people know that Ashley knows all this. This is news to the world. This has never been news to us. And I’m giving an explanation now because I feel like the world is waiting for it. But I don’t owe anyone an explanation but my wife. And she’s sitting here with me.”
Tyler also addressed the children’s birth certificates being posted online. “Things that shouldn’t be happening are now happening. Those kids, that family, they did not sign up for this.”
The 34-year-old kept the children secret from Ashley until two weeks before their wedding. The pair eventually moved past it and got married regardless.
The children’s mother, Bri Thomas, expressed her shock that Tyler denied his role in the children’s lives, sharing her side earlier this month. “In regards to our oldest child, Kyreaux, Tyler was initially only supposed to be helping me and my ex-wife. He was helping us conceive,” she shared in a series of videos posted to Instagram.
But after she and her wife divorced, Thomas says she became sexually involved with the Netflix star and got pregnant with their 5 year old twins. “Kali and Kamari, are the results of natural, unplanned intercourse with absolutely no complexities surrounding parentage.” “He was there throughout my entire pregnancy at the time. And the delivery and throughout my entire stay in the hospital after birth,” she recalled.
“He signed the birth certificate. He cut the umbilical cord. His mom and sister came and visited me in the hospital, visited us in the hospital after the twins were born. Again, there has never been any confusion or additional context surrounding the twins’ origin.”
Thomas says she doesn’t understand why he has “disowned” the children. “I can’t wrap my head around why he felt the best way to do that would be to cut off the kids.”
At the reunion, Ashley claimed Tyler was honest off camera about being in the children’s lives. “Who do you think has better insight on what’s going on, social media or me? So for people to imply, ‘she was blindsided! She didn’t know,’ is insulting to my intelligence,” Ashley explained.
“Number two, for the record, this is something he never wanted to share on camera. I just didn’t feel like it would be an authentic experience or that I could continue the experience if we didn’t.”
“When I said ‘I do,’ I said ‘I do’ to all of it. I was aware, and I took on what I wanted to,” Ashley continued. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love. This is a rarity, and it’s something that’s worth risking anything for.”
