Provost Kenneth Duffy joined residents, staff and guests at Netherton Care Home in Wishaw to commemorate the home’s 25th anniversary.
The milestone event on Monday, October 28, began with a traditional Scottish welcome from a piper, followed by a celebration reception and canapés.
Netherton Care Home Manager Hester Saarberg and Provost Duffy both spoke during the event, praising the dedicated staff and supportive community that have helped make Netherton such a caring and supportive place for residents over the years.
The festivities then continued with live entertainment, an auction, and a raffle, with prizes donated by the home’s suppliers. All proceeds from the auction and raffle will be going to Alzheimer Scotland to support ongoing research and care.
Provost Duffy said: “It’s a privilege to celebrate such a remarkable milestone with Netherton Care Home. The commitment of staff and the warmth of this community have made a true difference in the lives of so many people.”
The event also recognised Mrs. Liz Duffy, who attended the home’s original opening 25 years ago and celebrated Netherton’s longest resident, Mrs. Mary McGuinness.
