Big Brother’s Dean Smith has broken his silence after being the fifth contestant to be given the boot from Britain’s most renowned abode.
Hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best returned to our screens with the latest live eviction show on Friday (November 1), where viewers were on edge to see who amongst the housemates was up for the public vote following a dramatic face-to-face nomination session.
With the votes tallied and confirmed, it was announced that Dean had garnered the least public favour and was instructed by Big Brother to make an immediate exit.
Stepping out to meet the live crowd, the ousted participant was welcomed by AJ and Will for a brief discussion before moving on to the Late and Live studio for a fuller debrief on their stint in the house.
This eviction continues the trend set by Martha Church, Izaak Miah, Daze Aghaji Ryan Bradshaw, who were previously evicted from the show, reports the Manchester Evening News.
On receiving the disappointing news, Dean had a succinct three-word reaction for the cameras: “I knew it.”
He then coolly requested his fellow contestants to grab his water bottle as he got ready to depart.
However, an unexpected glitch caused a delay; the main door stayed shut instead of opening, prompting Dean to joke, “This is the longest goodbye ever!” He insisted vociferously, “I’m not leaving through the back door!”
AJ acknowledged the malfunction, noting that the door was jammed, indicating that the audience would have to hang tight to witness Dean’s departure.
Martha was the fourth contestant to be evicted from the Big Brother house in a “brutal” and unexpected back door exit on Wednesday (October 30) night. The 26 year old NHS administrator faced an emotional departure as she was informed of her nomination and subsequent eviction on the same day.
In a departure from the norm, Martha exited the house not through the main entrance amidst fanfare and the presence of hosts AJ Will, but rather through a secret passage without any audience. Emma, the “Evil” Head of House, stood before the other housemates as it was disclosed that she had nominated them for eviction.
The Halloween week is infamously challenging, often filled with surprise twists, double evictions, and utter pandemonium – this year’s season lived up to the reputation. The eviction candidates were announced after a startling twist involving the Head Of House at the conclusion of Tuesday’s (October 29) episode.
For the Halloween task, the contestants gathered around a campfire to partake in a chilling challenge, with the victor earning the coveted Head Of House title. A sequence of games eliminated the housemates one by one, with losers being doused in fake blood.
Emma emerged victorious in the nail-biting final round and was soon summoned to Big Brother’s clandestine basement.
