It’s now been 22 years since Ant & Dec began hosting I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! but there’s another person set to join the presenting line-up this year.
In just two weeks the long-running ITV series will return to screens, with rumours swirling about which celebrities have signed up to enter the jungle.
Some of the names in the mix for the 2024 line-up include former Strictly Come Dancing pro Giovanni Pernice, former X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos and Love Island star Maura Higgins.
Earlier this week it was also announced a major part of the series was returning four years after it was axed.
After ending in 2020, companion show Extra Camp has been revived, now being titled I’m A Celebrity Unpacked.
It will provide viewers with behind-the-scenes footage from camp and interviews with Ant and Dec and former stars of the series.
It will be hosted by Joel Dommett, last year’s I’m A Celebrity winner Sam Thompson and presenter and DJ Kemi Rodgers.
Although Joel, 39, and Sam, 32, are already familiar faces on screen, Kemi is a lesser-known star.
Here’s everything we know about her ahead of the huge hosting gig.
Kemi is a presenter, DJ and host, who currently hosts the mid-morning show on Capital radio.
She’s also appeared on Capital Breakfast with Jordan North and Chris Stark, and various other shows across Capital and Capital Xtra.
In her bio on her website, she jokingly poked fun at herself.
‘I am not even going to attempt to write this bit in the third person, because quite frankly it would cringe me out too much, pretending I’m important enough for someone else to know everything about me,’ she wrote.
‘So here goes an awkward tooting of my own horn for a minute, please bear with me,’ she added before listing her other notable jobs.
Kemi, who has over 10,000 followers on Instagram, has also appeared on Big Brother: Late and Live on ITV2 and BBC’s Morning Live.
She’s also worked with brands including eBay, Lucozade, Sky, Airbnb, Never Fully Dressed, WithU, Strongbow and more.
Aside from this she’s hosted movie premieres and interviewed stars, including for her Moxi Mixtape series and is a DJ too.
Before being axed, I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp ran from 2016 until 2019 and was then rebranded to The Daily Drop, which was hosted by Vick Hope and available to watch on ITV Hub.
However, it only aired for one season.
The news about the companion show coming back was confirmed on Good Morning Britain this week, with Joel – who was a runner-up on I’m A Celebrity in 2016 – explaining how it would work.
‘I did the extra show for three years, which I loved,’ he said.
‘I feel like I learned everything there. And then it stopped for a couple of years, and it feels like the right time to bring it back.’
He went on to say the format was being ‘mixed up and changed a lot’.
‘Obviously, we’ve changed the name, which is great. And we’re going to have Ant and Dec on every day talking through lots of stuff,’ he added.
After the news was announced, viewers expressed their excitement.
‘Yesssssss it’s back !! Missed this over last few years we been without !! Wahoooooo xx,’ Claire posted on X.
‘Cannot wait for this,’ Emma shared.
Meanwhile Anthony declared: ‘Finally it’s back!’
