A man has been arrested after a police pursuit from Clydebank to Dumbarton.
The incident began when a vehicle failed to stop for police on Glasgow Road in Clydebank, near Kilbowie Road.
A number of police cars are reported to have tailed the vehicle from Clydebank through to Dumbarton until it eventually crashed in Strathleven Place.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a car travelling at high speeds on the wrong side of the road towards the Church Street roundabout, whilst another claimed they had their vehicle’s mirror clipped during the pursuit.
A 20-year-old man was later arrested and charged, and is set to appear in court.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 10.20am on Friday, November 1, 2024, a vehicle failed to stop for police on Glasgow Road in Clydebank, at the junction with Kilbowie Road.
“A short pursuit took place until the vehicle crashed in the Strathleven Place area of Dumbarton and the driver was traced nearby shortly afterwards.
“A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences.
“He is expected to appear at court at a later date.”
