SITKA, Alaska (KTUU/Gray News) – Troopers in Alaska said a hunter was mauled to death during a deer hunting trip earlier this week.
Authorities were called to search for 50-year-old Tad Fujioka when he hadn’t returned Tuesday night.
Search and rescue crews found Fujioka’s remains in a remote wooded area near Sitka Wednesday morning around 11:30.
According to Alaska State Troopers, the investigation revealed he was likely the victim of a fatal bear mauling.
“Tad Fujioka was a beloved and brilliant father, husband, son, friend, leader and community member,” a GoFundMe post reads.
