Strictly Come Dancing’s Chris McCausland might not be lifting the Glitterball Trophy, according to new data revealing his disadvantage. The comedian, dancing with Dianne Buswell, is a favourite among bookies after consistently impressing the judges.

However, fresh data suggests that EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick could snatch the trophy from him. The BonusCodeBets.co.uk Supercomputer, which accurately predicted 33/1 outsider Hamza Yassin as the 2022 winner, analysed the traits of all previous 21 winners, revealing that the typical champion is a 31-year-old male actor.

Among this year’s celebrities, East-London-born Jamie almost perfectly fits the profile of a typical winner in terms of gender, occupation, and age. Actors have proven to be the most successful profession, with seven wins out of 21.

Previous winners include last year’s Ellie Leach and 2019’s Kelvin Fletcher. Ex-Love Islander Tasha Ghouri was initially the bookie’s favourite but has been overtaken by Chris McCausland.

If either of them wins, it would set a new Strictly record as the first from their professions to do so, given their counterparts’ historical lack of success in the competition, reports Wales Online.

A spokesperson for BonusCodeBets.co.uk remarked: “Jamie Borthwick has danced his way back into the spotlight after a show-stopping performance in week five that sent him straight to the top of the leaderboard.

“Our Supercomputer predicted him as the one to watch before the first step was even danced, and now he’s proving to be the real deal. Looks like the only thing more accurate than Jamie’s footwork is our algorithm!”

This weekend welcomes another tense elimination from the competition following the dreaded dance-off.

Last Sunday night, Punam Krisnan bowed out after falling into the bottom two opposite Shayne Ward. After witnessing the dance-offs, the judges reached a unanimous decision to save Shayne, ending Punam’s journey on the show.

The burning question remains: who will be the next celebrity to leave Strictly this weekend?

Strictly Come Dancing airs tonight at 6.30pm on BBC One.
