A man broke his son’s jaw by kicking him on the face during a fight.
Graeme Lewis committed the assault just a month after attacking his mother at her Wishaw home.
Lewis, 40, of Hawthorn Drive, Wishaw, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday.
He admitted assaulting his 22-year-old son to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
It happened at Graeme Lewis’s home on May 7 last year.
Aga Mathieson, prosecuting, said it was accepted Lewis acted under provocation.
She told the court: “His son attended at the house about 9pm.
“An argument ensued and they engaged in a fight. During this the victim fell to the ground and the accused kicked him on the head, causing him to lose consciousness.
“The police were contacted and the victim was taken to hospital. He had a broken jaw and a wound to his thumb.”
An allegation that Lewis bit his son on the hand was deleted from the charge.
Lewis also admitted striking his mum on the head with a tin of food at her home in Curlinghaugh Crescent on April 4 last year.
Ms Mathieson said: “He went to her home about 5.30pm. She told him he wasn’t welcome and asked him to leave.
“The accused threw a shopping bag at her and a tin from the bag hit her on the head, causing a one-inch cut.”
Sheriff Michael Higgins deferred sentence on Lewis until next month for background reports and an electronic tagging assessment.
