A woman has found herself at odds with a neighbour who demanded she move her car from her own driveway.

While you’re not necessarily expected to forge deep bonds with your neighbours after moving to a new area, common courtesy, such as exchanging greetings or extending small acts of kindness – like looking after parcels or sharing tea bags when needed – is a simple gesture that helps keep the peace.

Sadly, some find themselves with “neighbours from hell” and find it much harder to keep things friendly with the people they live near. One woman, pushed to her limits by her tormenting neighbour, has reached breaking point after she was bizarrely instructed to move her vehicle off her own driveway.

To add insult to injury, the same individual even recommended she move out of her home and neighbourhood entirely – and said she knew a potential buyer ready to take over her property already.

In a TikTok video, Nicole Turner Bell recounts the nonsensical request made by her neighbour to reposition her car out of her driveway, an encounter that understandably left her incensed.

She expressed: “My neighbour asked me to move my car because it’s ‘not in keeping with the street.’ She came round to my house last night and had a massive go at me. I came back from the supermarket today, and I thought, ‘Oh, she’s coming over to apologise.’ But no, she came over to tell me that if we are struggling, then she does know someone who wants to buy our house. The only inkling she’s got that we’re struggling is from the car that I drive.”

The woman revealed she paid just £200 for her car, which she then displayed on camera. The vehicle in question is a Kia Sorento, which Nicole said she bought when her husband’s job change necessitated a car switch.

She continued: “I didn’t want to pay car payments any more so I bought her for £200. Honestly, it’s such a bargain. It did smell like an old man at first, but now I’ve got air fresheners, and she’s absolutely fine. It cost me £200 and cost me £300 to insure. I’ve had it since June now, and I’ve had no issues at all. Monthly car payments just aren’t for me any more.”

Nicole then explained her neighbour’s latest outburst over her cheap car is merely the “tip of the iceberg,” as the other woman constantly criticises how they manage their household.

“She moans if we don’t water our plants enough,” she explained, “She doesn’t like the fact that we have astroturf in our garden for the kids because she wants it to be real grass. She doesn’t like the kids playing out on the street because she said they should be playing in their own gardens. God forbid one of the kids leaves a bike or scooter out. She also doesn’t like us leaving any bikes or scooters in our garden, she wants them in the shed because it’s not in keeping with the area.”

Commenters on Nicole’s video were gobsmacked by her neighbour’s “cheek.” Many pointed out that the car she drives is perfectly fine and doesn’t look as old and tatty as they had expected for the £200 price tag. Others suggested ways to get “petty” revenge on Nicole’s neighbour, especially with Christmas around the corner.

One person said: “My level of petty would be through the roof. I’m thinking the tackiest of tacky Christmas decs in the garden, from now on, park the car on the road instead and chalk hopscotch and drawings all over the driveway.” Another added: “Print up a list of hobbies and pastimes to give her and suggest her time would be better spent indulging in one of them. Don’t be as snotty as I’d be tempted to be, though. Maybe gentle parent her into it.”
