WYTHEVILLE, Va. – A Veterans Day celebration will be held in Wytheville on Nov. 11, the town announced. The celebration will feature a parade, and programs to honor those who have served.

The Town of Wytheville said the Veterans Day Parade will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 11 at Spiller Elementary School. The route will follow First Street to Monroe, Main, and Tazewell Streets before ending on Spiller Street at Withers Park.

At around 10 a.m., a ceremony featuring music by the George Wythe High School Band and the Spiller Elementary Fifth Grade Choir will take place in Withers Park.

The guest speaker for the event will be Maelene Watson, Commander of American Legion Post 9 and Chairwoman of the Wall of Honor Committee.
