Outlander actress Sophie Skelton will soon be stepping away from the romantic drama and star in an upcoming psychological thriller.
Since 2016, Skelton has portrayed Jamie (played by Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser’s (Caitriona Balfe) daughter who left her life in the 1970s behind to start afresh in the 18th Century.
The first half of season seven saw Brianna and husband Roger Wakefield (Richard Rankin) forced apart as she remained in the 1980s while he went back through the stones to find their son Jemmy.
It isn’t too long before Prime Video and Starz fans get to find out what happens next but away from the show, actress Sophie Skelton has been busy working on an upcoming movie.
The 30-year-old actress will star in the upcoming psychological thriller Row which is now in post-production.
The film Row, which was shot in Caithness, a historic county in the far northeast of Scotland, is reportedly “inspired by real-life expeditions”.
The story follows a failed transatlantic world record attempt which ends with a woman washed ashore on a rowing boat.
With the rest of her crew missing, she must then try and remember what happened in a bid to prove her innocence.
Alongside Skelton, Row will star alongside Plebs actress Bella Dayne, New Blood’s Mark Strepan and River City’s Tam Dean Burn, just to name a few.
As of yet, a release date hasn’t been announced but the film is scheduled to come out sometime in 2025.
This isn’t the only project Skelton has been working on though since her time on Outlander began.
She has also starred in Ren, Another Mother’s Son, 211, Stalker and did voiceover work in Castlevania: Nocturne.
Outlander season seven part two premieres on Friday, November 22, on MGM+ via Prime Video in the UK and on Starz in the US.
