Actor Paul Rudd surprised Philadelphia voters by bringing water to Temple University students waiting in long lines to cast their ballots.
“Deadline: White House” street reporter Jacob Soboroff made the celebrity sighting while speaking to MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace inside the studio. He quickly rushed to interview the incognito “Ant-Man” star, who was wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses while carrying water bottles with both arms.
“It’s a wonderful thing that all these young people are out voting,” Rudd said. “It’s impressive.”
Temple University students reportedly waited up to two hours to vote at their local polling center.
“How are you feeling about the election?” Soboroff asked Rudd.
Mindful not to do any electioneering while indiscriminately handling water to anyone who asked, Rudd awkwardly laughed before responding: “I feel good about handing out some water,” he diplomatically said.
Voters flocked to the 55-year-old Emmy nominee after Soboroff resumed his conversation with Wallace.
“You never know you’re going to see,” the reporter said.
Soboroff then volunteered to snap a picture of one excited student who wanted to be photographed with Rudd to remember the day’s events.
Rudd has voiced his support for Democratic candidates in the past, but has not released an official presidential endorsement ahead of this election.
