Two men have been arrested and charged after the recovery of cannabis with a street value of around £68,000 in Rutherglen.

The drugs were seized after Road Policing officers stopped a vehicle on Cambuslang Road in the early hours of Tuesday, November 5.

The men, aged 32 and 20, are expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday (November 6).

Road Policing Sergeant Scott Gourlay said: “This recovery highlights our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.

“Removing drugs from our streets remains a priority for Police Scotland and information provided by the public is essential in helping us achieve this.

“We encourage anyone with information or concerns about drugs in their community to contact police via 101. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
