If you’re not a fan of turkey, why not dig into fried chicken this Christmas instead?
Louisiana fried chicken brand Popeyes, which has previously been hailed as ‘phenomenal’ and ‘better than McDonald’s’ is launching its first-ever Christmas menu.
Available from Tuesday 5 November, the menu will introduce six new items that ‘combine the flavours of New Orleans with British festive classics’, all for as little as £1.50.
Think traditional Christmas stuffing with a Southern twist, or cranberry sauce with some added spice.
The star of the show? The Festive Superstack Sandwich, a ‘next-level take’ on the fan favourite Popeyes Chicken Sandwich.
The treat features a crunchy chicken breast topped with Emmental cheese, fresh pickles and lettuce, and its brand-new sage and onion hash brown. It’s all stacked inside a soft brioche bun and topped with sweet and spicy cranberry habanero sauce and mayo.
The new hash brown is a ‘seasonal revamp’ of an English breakfast classic, which can also be ordered as a standalone side.
Since it launched in the US in 2022, fans have been obsessed with OG chicken sandwich, with commenters online hailing the chicken burger as ‘perfect’, and some even saying it made them ‘horny’. (No judgement here). So, we can expect similar delight over the Christmas offerings.

In fact, when the chain teased the new menu on their social media account, fans were quick to express their excitement.
‘CANNOT WAIT LITERALLY’ wrote one Instagrammer. While another added it was ‘looking good’.
And Popeyes Christmas fast-food doesn’t just have to be reserved for lunch or dinner. They’ve also launched a breakfast roll, the Festive Feastin’ Roll, a seasonal version of the Big Cajun Roll.
The treat contains a sausage patty, four ‘juicy’ bacon rashers, a free-range egg and a sage and onion hash brown, topped with cranberry habanero sauce.
There’s also a chicken version, the Chicken Festive Feastin’ Roll, which swaps out the sausage and bacon for a herby chicken patty.
Finally, fried chicken lovers can also opt for the Festive Superstack Box Meal. The combo includes the Festive Superstack Sandwich with a choice of two tenders, three hot wings or one-piece Signature Chicken, served with regular fries and drink, from £11.49.
And, you can finish it all off with a caramel latte or, for something a little more decedent, the limited-edition Frostin’ Mint Shake, described as an ‘indulgent combo of festive minty flavours’ made with thick Jersey cream and sprinkled with Oreo pieces.
Dave Hoskins, Head of Food at Popeyes, said: ‘This festive season we want to give our guests a taste of the traditional holiday flavours everyone knows and loves but with a true Popeyes twist.
‘We’re proud to reveal our first-ever festive menu in the UK, and what better way to do it than with a nod to our New Orleans heritage?
‘We know our fans love when we put a spin on a classic, and our Sage & Onion hash browns are a delicious all-day way to enjoy the flavours of a roast potato – what’s not to love?’
Merry Popeyes-mas to all who celebrate.
