A 37-year-old woman was slashed in the face and thrown onto the train tracks during a fight with a man inside a Harlem subway station, cops said Wednesday.
The woman had entered the A/C 125th St. station at St. Nicholas Ave. just before 11 p.m. Tuesday when a man sporting dreadlocks followed her inside, cops said.
The woman knew the suspect and began arguing with him, witnesses told police.
As the argument escalated, the suspect flashed a blade and slashed her in the face, cops said. He then pushed the woman onto the subway tracks.
No train was entering the station and the bloodied woman was able to clamber back onto the platform on her own as her attacker ran off, cops said.
She took herself to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries before police were called.
Her attacker, who stands around 5-foot-9 and sported a colorful flower design on his black hoodie, was still being sought by authorities Wednesday
It wasn’t immediately clear what the two were arguing about, but according to a police source, the man is the victim’s ex-boyfriend.
Detectives were scouring the area Wednesday looking for surveillance footage that can help them identify the slasher, cops said.
