Stranger Things devotees have been given a major update about the show’s fifth and final season, including details around an upcoming storyline.
The nostalgic science fiction drama will officially conclude with its fifth outing next year, set in 1987, with fans finally getting a peek at the eight episode titles today (November 6).
The released episode names are:
The Crawl
The Vanishing Of [Omitted]
The Turnbow Trap
Sorcerer
Shock Jock
Escape From Camazotz
The Bridge
and The Rightside Up
Eagle-eyed fans have pinpointed a deliberate gap in the second episode’s title, sparking speculation about a significant story arc that could unfold next year, reports the Mirror. Could it point toward the disappearance of key figures such as Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Steve Harrington (Joe Keery), or Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown)?
Netflix revealed the list in pure Stranger Things style, showcasing the titles against the backdrop of the iconic red logo of the show, underpinned by the haunting theme tune. The accompanying tagline teased further: “In the fall of 1987… one last adventure begins.”
Following the reveal, the Stranger Things community has been abuzz, with countless fans flocking to social media to voice their enthusiasm about the forthcoming episodes.
“‘The vanishing of…’ WAS SUCH A MASSIVE TEASE,” one fan proclaimed on YouTube. “I can’t believe how you tease us with that second title super naughty ST but I am so excited!” another chimed in.
A third shared: “‘Last adventure’ screaming crying, I’m not ready,” coupled with crying and broken heart emojis.
An official release date for next year hasn’t been confirmed, but considering the timeframe of the Hawkins gang’s final adventure, it could potentially be released in September or October.
Stranger Things season 5 will be released in 2025 on Netflix.
