The former Debenhams store in The Centre Livingston is to be transformed into a state-of-the-art bowling alley.

Family entertainment operator, Hollywood Bowl, has been granted permission for 22 bowling lanes, an amusements area and a bar and diner.

West Lothian Council has approved planning permission, which also involves converting the existing unit into an e-go-kart track and a ten-pin bowling alley. The ground floor will be occupied by the bowling alley, while the first and second floor units will be occupied by the e-go-kart track.

The Centre, Livingston was purchased in November 2023 by LCP, part of M Core Property, with ambitious plans to transform the shopping centre into a vibrant retail and leisure destination and attract more global brands.

Neil Woodward, asset manager at LCP, said: “The opening of a 22-lane bowling venue next year will be a major milestone for us as we plan to expand even further into the leisure sector and also add additional retail and leisure brands to our portfolio.”
