New episodes of Outlander are finally just days away, with the second half of season seven premiering on Friday, November 22.
The show’s huge legion of fans are eagerly awaiting the epic return of Claire (played by Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) after a wait of more than a year.
In the second half of the latest outing, the iconic couple will have just arrived back home to Scotland where many more adventures and challenges await.
Meanwhile, their daughter Brianna (Sophie Skelton) has been left in the 1980s while her husband Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) starts a desperate search through time for their kidnapped son.
A short preview of the drama to come has left fans in a frenzy when it was posted to the show’s official Instagram page earlier this week.
The clip begins with some passionate statements from the couple. Jamie begins by asking: “Have you ever been in any doubt that I need you?
“You have needed me urgently from the moment you saw me,” Claire replies emphatically.
We then cut to a devastating scene from the trailer in which Lord John Grey (David Berry) tells Claire “Jamie’s ship was lost at sea.”
However, she defiantly replies: “You’re wrong. I would feel it. I would know.”
The post received hundreds of comments from fans, as both those who have read Diana Gabaldon’s original novels and those who haven’t prepare for one of Outlander’s most devastating storylines.
“I cant wait anymore, my heart just cant stand [it]. I love you guys,” one viewer responded.
“Well that just tore my guts out,” another heartbroken fan wrote.
Someone else predicted: “Caitríona is going to break my heart over and over again.”
“And once again they are breaking our hearts!” another fan agreed. “Such love between them and such pain as well.”
While a final fan put it succinctly: “Our hearts will shatter into a thousand pieces.”
The next instalment of Starz’s epic Fraser saga is one of the biggest TV events of the season, so make sure you’re all caught up before the epic Scottish adventures continue.
Outlander season seven part two premieres on Friday, November 22, on MGM+ via Prime Video in the UK and on Starz in the US.
