Travel at London Victoria station has been hit by disruption after a points failure, causing delays and cancellations.

Passengers travelling on Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink services should brace for longer journeys than usual and use alternative routes.

It comes after all lines between Haywards Heath, Brighton and Lewes have been blocked because of the points issue.

Unfortunately for those heading to work or Gatwick Airport, the issue is not expected to be .

Meanwhile, all the Tube strikes have been called off following a successful pay deal between the drivers’ union Aslef and TfL.

The Underground network was set to be crippled on Thursday and Tuesday before they reached an agreement yesterday.

Train lines to Portsmouth harbour are blocked

Some railways to and from Portsmouth harbour have been closed after a faulty train at Fratton is stuck on the tracks.

Travellers heading into the harbour to catch their ferry should expect cancellations, delays of up to 20 minutes or revisions.

National Rail said that disruption is expected until 10.30am.

Fleet maintenance crews have been sent to investigate and fix the fault.

Here are the affected routes.

  • services between Cardiff Central and Portsmouth Harbour
  • services between London Waterloo / Southampton Central and Portsmouth & Southsea / Portsmouth Harbour

Broken down vehicle causes traffic delays on M6

Drivers on the M6 in the West Midlands have been warned of delays on the southbound carriageway after a broke-down vehicle between junctions J11 and J10.

One lane out of three has been closed and there are delays of 10 minutes against expected traffic.

National Highways said motorists may wish to consider using the M6 Toll road which runs further east parallel to the regular M6.

Some railway lines have been blocked at Clapham Junction, causing delays on South Western Railway trains.

The disruption is expected to last until 9am, SWR warned.

The London Underground line has been hit by severe delays between Turnham Green and Richmond as the rush hour gets underway.

This is because of late running Network Rail engineering works.

The rest of the line has good service.
