A trio of Monklands roads will close for work over the next few weeks – with travel advice issued to motorists.
Broomfield Street in Airdrie, from Gartlea Road to 25m east of Old Union Street, will shut for five days from November 18.
This is to allow for a carriageway resurfacing scheme and diverted routes for drivers will include Gartlea Road, Monklands Street and Tollbrae Avenue.
Gartsherrie Road in Coatbridge will shut, from Gartgill Road to the John G Russell access, between 10pm on November 20 and 6am the following morning to “facilitate a railway bridge examination”.
Alternative routes for motorists to use will include Blair Road, the A89 Bank Street, the B753 Dundyvan Road, the A725 Coatbank Street, the A89 South Circular Road and the B803 Sunnyside Road.
Finally, ironwork repairs will see Coatbridge’s Forrestburn Road close from 9.30am until 9pm on December 2.
The closure will run between 36m south of Mayburn Place and 28m south of Fyneburn Gardens.
Motorists are warned there won’t be any diversions available, although pedestrian access will “be permitted where practical”.
