Airports can be quite stressful, particularly when dealing with young children on the brink of a tantrum.

From luggage check-in, to hastily drinking the water you forgot was in your reusable bottle for security clearance, and then locating your gate, which usually seems to be the furthest one, time always seems to run out.

Despite arriving hours before your flight, there’s a lot to consider before jetting off on your holidays, especially if you are still half asleep trying to catch an early morning flight. But one lesser-known travel tip could significantly affect your next airport experience.

Booking an early morning flight can seem like a great idea at the time, by giving you more daylight hours at the end destination, however the realisation of having to get up before the crack of dawn to get to the airport in time isn’t so inviting.

There’s a little-known airport rule that can make the early morning flights on EasyJet a breeze, reports the Mirror. If you book an early morning flight with EasyJet, you can check in your baggage the evening before the flight.

Known as the Twilight Bag Drop, it’s currently on offer at certain airports, including from Glasgow, Manchester, Belfast, Bristol, Edinburgh, or London Gatwick.

“Each airport operates on a different opening and closing time for the EasyJet Twilight Bag Drop as well as the cut-off for morning departures. So if you’re thinking about utilising the service it’s worth heading to the EasyJet website to get all the required information you need,” advises Tyla.

But EasyJet isn’t alone in providing twilight services, as Tui, Jet2, and British Airways also provide similar options. Next time you are scheduled for an early lift-off, make sure you explore whether these services are available to you – they can significantly streamline your journey.
