Donald Trump has been confirmed as the new President of the United States, which could have significant implications for Prince Harry.

The 47th President has previously made some harsh comments about the Duke of Sussex, and the election result could be life-altering for him and his wife Meghan Markle.

Trump has issued several critical statements about Harry and even hinted that he would deport Harry from the country if he were to win.

Harry has recently been the centre of controversy regarding his visa, which permits him to reside in California, reports the Mirror.

Following his confession of past drug use, including marijuana, cocaine, and psychedelic mushrooms in his autobiography ‘Spare’. A lawsuit from the conservative think tank the Heritage Foundation demanded that the US Government disclose records, permitting the Duke’s visa application to show whether his drug use was declared.

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, leaves the High Court after giving evidence in his case which is a part of a group lawsuit against the Mirror Group Newspapers over alleged unlawful information gathering in London, United Kingdom on June 06, 2023.

Before any decision was reached in the case, Donald Trump heckled the Biden administration for keeping Harry’s immigration details confidential to “protect Harry,” caustically remarking: “He would be on his own if it was down to me.” He strongly told Express US: “I wouldn’t protect him.”

He continued by saying: “He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable.”

In an interview with Nigel Farage on GB News, when questioned about Harry’s position, he was asked if there would be any “special privileges” for the prince, to which the Republican replied: “No. We’ll have to see if they know something about the drugs, and if he lied they’ll have to take appropriate action.”

Mr Farage asked: “Appropriate action? Which might mean…not staying in America?”

To which Trump replied: “Oh I don’t know. You’ll have to tell me. You just have to tell me. You would have thought they would have known this a long time ago.”

Last month, a judge made a ruling in the case saying that Harry’s visa documents should remain private. However, the Heritage Foundation has made another court filing saying it was not granted access to private submissions made to the judge by the Biden administration.

The motion, extending 13 pages, was submitted last Tuesday and articulates that the case is ‘unique’ and complication, but highlights that there is “ample evidence of agency bad faith” meaning “severely compromises [Heritage’s] ability to prepare arguments on appeal”.

The Heritage Foundation initially filed the lawsuit after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) denied a Freedom of Information request for the Duke’s records.

In his bombshell memoir, Harry confessed that cocaine “didn’t do anything for me”, and “Marijuana is different, that actually really did help me.”

Additionally he recounts an experience with magic mushrooms, saying: “I stared at the bin. It stared back. ‘What-staring? ‘ Then it became… a head. I stepped on the pedal and the head opened its mouth. A huge open grin.”

US visa applications specifically inquire about an individual’s current and past drug use, which can significantly impact the application process. Extensive drug use may result in application rejections, though immigration officers exercise discretion based on a variety of factors.

However, there has been a hint that Harry’s visa woes wont result in him being deported during Trump’s next term. Eric Trump implied that it would not be an issue, remarking that Harry is not a concern since “no one cares” about him, also claiming Meghan is presently “pretty unpopular”

During the interview Eric indicating that Harry seems to have “gone off the deep end and it’s sad to watch”. Meanwhile, he complimented Prince William, and Kate for being “such a rock in the next generation of the family”.

Speaking to MailOnline, Eric said: “Truthfully I don’t give a damn about Prince Harry and I don’t think this country does either. My father loved the Queen and I think the monarchy is an incredibly beautiful thing.” He added: “I don’t give a damn if he did drugs. It means nothing. I can tell you that our father and our entire family has tremendous respect for the monarchy.”

The relationship between Harry and Trumps has been strained since the Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle decided to step back from Royal duties and relocate to the United States over four years ago.

During the 2020 US election campaign between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, the Sussexes released a video encouraging Americans to ‘vote against hate speech’, which was seen as a dig at Trump although they didn’t name anyone specifically.
