BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – Eleven years ago a Cedar Bluff man left his home to go hunting, and has not been seen since.
But the Virginia State Police continues to investigate the disappearance of Eric Grady Smith, which was initially a missing person case and has since been deemed a possible homicide.
The VSP Bureau of Criminal Investigation Wytheville Field Office is still looking for leads in the disappearance of Smith, who was 42 years old when he vanished on Nov. 8, 2013.
Smith was to hunt along West Buggy Road in Tazewell County and was last seen wearing camouflage clothing. The VSP said he left his home that morning on foot, armed with a 50-caliber muzzleloader
According to previous reports, he left his cell phone and cigarettes inside the house and wallet in his truck. Many searches in the area turned up nothing.
Smith is described as white, 6’1” with brown hair and brown eyes and weighing about 210 pounds at the time of his disappearance.
