Strictly Come Dancing champion Ellie Leach was utterly astounded as she recounted her astonishing find. The ex-Corrie sensation, who scooped up the Glitterball trophy last year alongside Vito Coppola, dazzled audiences with their dynamic partnership.
Their Argentine Tango to Destiny’s Child hit Bills, Bills, Bills emerged as a particularly memorable performance.
And, earlier this week, Ellie turned to Instagram to share an emotional moment with her 423,000 followers after stumbling upon a memento from that iconic dance. In disbelief at finding a lock of hair from Argentine Tango Week in her memory box, the 23 year old expressed: “I am crying. I’m clearing out my room and I just found out this piece of hair in my memory box from Argentine Tango Week.”
Vito, now paired with Sarah Hadland for the current Strictly season, also received high praise for their Halloween Week Argentine Tango. The dancing duo has since excitedly announced on Instagram their upcoming American Smooth to Heather Small’s Proud for this Saturday, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Echoing their enthusiasm, they wrote: “We are sooooo excited to dance this song this week. We do really hope to make everyone Proud.”
Describing the essence of their performance, they added: “It’s celebration, positivity, optimism, good energy and beautiful spirit. It’s Freedom and it’s Love! What have we done today to make all proud? We Daaaaaanced… Always with love. Trilly and Vito.”
The iconic Heather Small song was famously featured in the BBC sitcom Miranda, which starred Sarah. Fans were overjoyed by the reference to the beloved show as they eagerly anticipated this week’s episode.
One exclaimed: “I’ve waited for this moment since Sarah was announced for Strictly. I cannot wait,” while another commented: “Oh, I miss the Miranda show now. Go Sarah!”
Despite no longer being part of the show, Ellie is supporting her professional partner Vito and Sarah. She told the Echo: “I’m really excited for Vito. He’s always supported me through everything that I’ve done since winning Strictly and I will always support him as well. So I’m very excited for him.”
