CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR/Gray News) – A trio of employees at Chick-fil-A are being recognized for their bravery after rushing to help a customer who was having a medical emergency in the drive-thru.
The young women are being hailed heroes, but they see the situation much differently.
Employee Jada Marsh noticed a customer in the drive-thru lane convulsing and called her team members for help.
“I was like, ‘Guys, I think he’s having a seizure,’” she said.
From there, Marsh and two other employees, Georgia Foster and Katherine Garcia Angel, sprung into action.
“Katherine comes around and takes off running, so I take off running after her,” Foster said.
“Katherine actually, like, jumped through the window of the car,” Marsh added.
Once she got inside the car, Angel put her hand on the brake pedal while Foster shifted the car into park.
The women say trained EMTs happened to be walking out of the restaurant when everything happened and provided medical attention to the customer.
The women are being dubbed heroes, but they say they were just trying to help.
“Chick fil A is a big part of being a part of your community and helping out your fellow citizens. I think that’s what went into it,” Foster said.
Chick-fil-A awarded each woman with a plaque as a lasting reminder of their bravery.
