Lady Louise Windsor, often dubbed as the Royal Family’s “secret weapon”, was spotted celebrating her 21st birthday with her boyfriend.

The young royal, who is 16th in line to the throne, has reportedly been dating Felix da Silva-Clamp for a while now, having met at St Andrews University in Scotland – the same place where Prince William and Kate Middleton kindled their famous romance.

Lady Louise, currently in her third year studying English, was seen partying with friends, dancing and taking selfies with Felix at a university drama society fundraiser earlier this year, the Mirror reports.

The daughter of Edward and Sophie, Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, appears particularly close with Felix in the photos, with the pair seen cuddling and resting their heads together.

Another image shows Lady Louise cosying up to Felix, her hand on his chest and her head on his shoulder. Sources suggest that Felix, whose father is a solicitor, gets along well with Lady Louise’s parents. He is believed to work part-time at an ice cream parlour in St Andrews alongside his studies.

Meanwhile, Lady Louise reportedly worked at a garden centre during the summer of 2022 before starting her university journey. Despite her royal status, she is said to have helped out on the tills, welcomed customers, and pruned and potted plants at the garden centre.

One customer remarked: “She is a really modest and sweet young woman who is polite and attentive to customers. She seemed to be loving the job. You’d never imagine the Queen’s granddaughter would take on a role working behind a till.”

Another chimed in: “The staff seemed to adore her. It’s not every day you buy your begonias off a royal.”

Lady Louise, who celebrates her 21st birthday today, could potentially spend a semester abroad as part of her four-year English Literature degree programme. Born into the Royal family, she faced early challenges; in 2003, Lady Louise was born via emergency Caesarean section due to placental abruption, leading to significant blood loss for both her and her mother Sophie.

After a precautionary stay in the neo-natal unit at St George’s Hospital in Tooting, south London, she was discharged. In April 2004, she was baptised in Windsor Castle’s Private Chapel.

Felix, another character in this narrative, although born in London, attended Melbourne Grammar School. His mother works with the World Health Organisation’s mental health gap action programme and resides in Australia.

Reports suggest that Lady Louise is considering Australia for her final year of university, with Macquarie University being her preferred choice.

Despite her close relation to Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Prince William, and Prince Harry, Lady Louise carries the title “Lady” instead of “Princess”. This decision was made by her father, Prince Edward, who aimed to protect her from the intense scrutiny associated with royal life.

In a 2020 interview with The Sunday Times, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, shared her philosophy on parenting: “We try to bring them up with the understanding that they are very likely to have to work for a living. Hence we made the decision not to use HRH titles.”
