PRINCETON, W.Va. – Kickstands are up at 2 p.m. Saturday for the 12th Annual Toys for Tots Motorcycle Run.
The run starts at the Vietnam Veterans Building on Thorn Street in Princeton and ends at Cole Harley Davidson in Bluefield.
Registration starts at 11 a.m. with coffee and donuts, as well as entertainment and door prizes.
Toys for Tots Coordinator Rodney “Charlie” Smith said that in lieu of a registration fee participants are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for kids aged 2 to 12.
Two other big events are coming up next month. On Dec. 6, a collection day will be held at the Princeton Walmart and on Dec. 13 at the Bluefield Walmart.
“We are planning our distribution event on Dec. 14,” Smith said. That will be held in Mercer Mall and volunteers are needed for sorting and tagging.
King Tire is also involved in Toys for Tots and Smith said they are “amazing,” already collecting about 1,500 items and only half-way through their collection push.
WVVA will be on hand for both those Walmart collection days with live reports.
