Cambuslang’s award-winning Asian Tandoori takeaway has come up with a “dynamite” dish that will tantalise the taste buds.

Customers welcomed the new chasni donner twist on cuisine after a video and details of the mouthwatering meat were released on TikTok.

The trial dish was served with chips and cheese and proved a big hit when takeaway owner Jameel Ahmed asked what followers thought of the sample portion he’d produced.

Chasni features a creamy base with a hint of spice, it’s a sweet and sour type of sauce which normally includes mango chutney, ketchup, mint and lemon juice.

The video soon gained over 23,000 views and is also proving a winner with customers in the shop.

Asian Tandoori’s exact recipe may be being kept under wraps, but it’s proving so popular it’s now being used as a pizza topping and a filling for hoagies.

Jameel Ahmed: “It’s went mental, we’re selling it every single day as people keep wanting to try it.

“It’s a bit of a hot topic. But it’s not spicy or anything it’s just very flavoury and very tasty. It’s dynamite.

“Normally when we do things like this it will be busy and sell for a week or two but this hasn’t really quietened down. We’ve got a couple of different options, pizza and in a hoagie.

Asian Tandoori, which is situated at Main Street in Cambuslang, scooped the title of Takeaway of the Year at the City of Glasgow Awards 2024, to add to a host of other top awards in recent years.

“We’re always trying to come up with something different. We’ve got a few ideas in the pipeline but when something like this happens then we try and focus on that, rather than throwing out two or three ideas at once and then you can’t cope with it.

“We’re also doing a limited edition Pickin’ Chicken Mix Box just now.

“We’re passionate about food and I work on the cooker myself as I’m like the head chef. I always want to try new things and come up with random ideas. No matter how busy you get, you need to keep the customers interested. People are always looking to try something different.”
