The country’s recent election result has left many Americans pondering moving abroad in an attempt to escape the divisive political climate.
And if you have a significant amount of money to spare, you might be able to bypass the upcoming presidency altogether.
One cruise line has launched a ‘Skip Forward’ package – a four-year residential voyage where you can sail far far away from America.
The trip will take ticketholders to all seven continents, with visits to over 425 ports across 140 countries.
According to the operator’s website, the Villa Vie Odyssey ship will spend a month in the Caribbean before embarking on a four-month South American journey featuring two Panama Canal transits, the Chilean Fjords, an Antarctic sail-by, Carnival in Rio and eight day traversing the Amazon River.
Residents also have the flexibility to ‘customise’ their journey at any port during the continuous adventure.
The lengthy voyage is part of the company’s Tour La Vie programme – and it comes with a hefty price tag.
The four-year package costs $159,999 (£125,000) per person for a double room, while a single-occupancy cabin is $255,999 (£200,000), according to the company’s website.
However, if a four-year cruise is too much to commit to, the company offers a range of packages, including the one-year ‘Escape from Reality’ starting at $49,999 (£40,000).
Other options include the ‘Mid-Term Selection’ which lasts two years and is priced from $93,999 (£73,000), and the three-year ‘Everywhere but Home’ cruise which is available from $129,999 (£102,000).
Anne Alms, head of sales for Villa Vie Residences, said: ‘Villa Vie offers a unique one-of-a-kind way to see the whole world at a slow pace where you have enough time to experience the cultural vibe of every port.
‘Your villa is your bedroom and the ship is your home, she’ll take you across the globe to endless horizons.’
The price includes all food, drinks (aside from alcohol, which is only included with dinner), WiFi, and medical visits.
Plus, housekeeping is provided weekly and laundry service is bi-weekly, all at no additional cost.
Villa Vie Residences CEO Mikael Patterson told FOX Business the package is perfect for Americans seeking escape.
He said: ‘Although the campaign was put together before the results of the election, we feel we have a perfect product for those who said they’d leave the country if XYZ wins the election.
‘We may have differing political views, but our community comes together through our passion for exploring the world in a very real way that goes far beyond politics.’
Earlier this year, the company launched an ‘Endless Horizons’ package aimed at retirees hoping to explore the world in luxury and giving them a chance to beat inflation.
The ‘lifetime’ ticket required a one-time payment of $299,999 (£235,000) for a single room and $499,999 (£400,000) for a double occupancy room.
